Hey guys, I've spent about 6 hours on this now and short of hiring a professional I don't know what to do anymore.
Yesterday I was playing a game (Age of Empires 3 if that matters) and during the game my PC froze and crashed. After I reset it, I noticed there was no sound on my PC. I looked through the Device Manager and found that "High Definition Audio Controller" had a Code 10 error.
- This device cannot start. (Code 10) Operation Failed, the requested operation was unsuccessful.-
Also on the sound icon on the taskbar, I see - No speakers or headphones are plugged in. -
I tried the following in terms of troubleshooting:
Restarting my PC multiple times
Reinstalling the drivers for ALL audio controllers and my sound card
Uninstalling the Audio Controllers, the Realtek Audio controller, and restarting PC
Unplugging and replugging my Sound Bar, using different Audio ports (both the one in back, and the one in front)
Using different audio options. 4 different pairs of headsets and a soundbar.
Reinstalled Windows 10.
As of right now, I have not gotten any audio to be recognized by the PC. The PC is 100% updated, as are all drivers, and it is virus free as well.
I would really appreciate any help you guys can give me.
