Post Body

I've had this laptop for a year and this issue only came recently. I play games like Rainbow Six Siege where in before this was all happening I use to get 120-130fps, where now I get 20-30. I've been browsing the internet for this fix but I could never find the right answer. I I'm not too sure if its a GPU problem or a CPU problem but I suspect that my laptop is not using my dedicated GPU. I've been setting my Nvidia control panel to use my GPU, doesn't work. Try to go to display settings in Windows for apps to use my GPU, nothing. Re-installing drivers, still doesn't work.

My laptop is the Legion Y520 and here are the specs:

  • CPU: 2.8GHz Intel Core i7-7700HQ (dual-core, 6MB cache, up to 3.8GHz)
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (4GB GDDR5 RAM); Intel HD Graphics 630.
  • RAM: 16GB DDR4 (2,400MHz, PC4-2400, SODIMM)
