Both of the printers (a Konica and an HP Laserjet) in one room of our office constantly show the "Receiving Data" light. The HP keeps receiving some kind of print job, but it only comes out as a single blank page from the default tray every few minutes. I've tried checking the trays, settings, resetting to factory defaults, etc. to no avail. Also, when I log into the devices via my browser neither of them show any pending print jobs in the queue. They successfully receive legitimate print jobs when sent, but once the job is over it goes back to "Receiving Data."
Our office recently underwent some renovations. Two new ethernet ports were added to this room and our printers were moved to these locations. Is it possible that our contractor messed up the cabling and that's causing some kind of interference with the printers? It just seems odd to me that two printers made by two different manufacturers would both have this constant "Receiving Data" issue when plugged into the two brand new ports.
I'm planning to test them on a different port, but I need to grab a longer ethernet cable first. I'm just wondering if I'm potentially on the right track here, or if it's not even probable for this to be a cabling issue.
Thank you!!
