My dad got an email saying we're about to hit our "data cap" for the month which is 1TB. Not only have we never gone over, but we have never even came close to this limit before this last month.
When reviewing data traffic on our router a program listed "Akamai.net" has been seen chewing up GBs of data at a time, without any reference to why it is putting up such high numbers.
After searching the web for Akamai.net I have concluded that it's used for streaming optimization, leaving me to believe it's a subprocess of either Netflix or Amazon Prime videos.
Anyone else seen this? I'm trying to isolate this problem so we can at least limit usage of the programs that run this "Akamai.net".
