I work in a maintenance office that has a computer dedicated to maintenance calls, which work on a ticket system. Clients call a helpline (not in my office) which dictates a ticket describing the issue, the client's information, and location. This does not happen very often, as it is only a small part of our jobs. Ideally, the monitoring system triggers an audio alert, and one of the people in the office executes the repair/install/solution. Often, the computer is asleep, which does not let the system trigger a response, or the settings will have been altered where the alert does not happen. Since no user in my office is allowed administrator access, we cannot change settings or install a program like Caffeine which will keep the computer awake. Is there any workaround to solve this problem?
