Have this odd issue where the Windows event log shows this program has requested a time change.
Like to Jan 1800!
The application requesting the time change is an SQL server based POS System (The installers use everything from SQL SERVER 2008 to 2016, depending on their mood) and other than an anti-virus and remote management software is the only thing installed.
It happens when the system is being used, as well as when the system is left overnight. Hundreds of time change requests.
It seems to only happen with a particular model terminal we sell. (Custom board with Intel chipset and a core 3 cpu, running Windows 7 for POS). We sell other terminals made by the same vendor and they don't have this issue.
The issue started recently and new customers with that configuration are reporting the problem as well.
I think it's possibly a glitch in the app, but I'm unsure.
Long story short, is there a way either through a policy or third party hat to disallow the executable from telling Windows to change the time ?
