My WiFi driver automatically installed a version of itself incompatible with my OS (Windows 7). Can I install an earlier version manually?
Post Body

I have a Linksys AE3000 WiFi USB stick.

As you can see here, the latest driver version compatible with Windows 7 is 3.2.8.0, however, the first time I inserted the stick, Windows automatically installed the newest drivers - 5.1.21.0. So I don't have a backup to return to.

If I go to the device manager and manually cancel the latest update, it will simply download 5.1.2.0 instead, which is also incompatible.

I've downloaded the correct version and tried to install it as an update, but when I do, it just says "Windows has concluded this driver is up-to-date." Well, they're not entirely wrong...

Is there any way I can install an older version of the driver? It is quite annoying because it for some reason fucks up something with my DNS every 30 seconds, and I lose connection to new websites (which thankfully means it has no trouble with downloads as long as I start them before I lose connection. Like, if I'm already browsing reddit, I can do open all self-posts and my profile and what not, but I won't be able to open anything else unless I already had it open).
