Mouse and/or keyboard stop working randomly
Post Body

Specs: Windows 10 64bit(Windows 7 ultimate 64bit) P67 Sabertooth Motherboard I don't remember the PSU brand but it was gold rated 1000W Logitech G500S mouse Alienware Keyboard Also Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse combo

Observed Action:

I'm doing whatever, usually something graphics intensive(movie or game) or browsing reddit. Then the mouse will stop working for 1-15 seconds. The mouse has an LED mouse speed gauge that will turn off occasionally when this happens the first time or two. After an indeterminate amount of power failures(sometimes 0, usually 2-3, as high as 11) of the mouse, it will stop working completely until restart. Sometimes the keyboard stops working also. Sometimes if I have the wireless keyboard combo plugged in with the gaming mouse, just the gaming mouse will stop working. Sometimes all 3. Some nights I will go through an entire night of gaming without a single failure. Some nights I have 10 complete failures.

Plugging into different ports/hubs on the motherboard changes nothing. Plugging into USB 3.0 does nothing. I have 5 HDDs, one 120gb first gen intel SSD boot drive, one 3-TB, two 500gb, one 250gb. I've reformatted the SSD, but not the others. I upgraded from Win7 to Win10 today....no change. I have changed my power plan settings to have selective suspension of USB turned off in 'Device Manager' and 'Power Options'. I've blown out my computer and nearly returned it to a new state of cleanliness. I went from 54C to 43C air cooled under medium load.

I have no idea what to do. Nothing else is failing, so I rule out the PSU. I can only assume the USB controller on my MOBO is shorted. I have no other USB powered objects to test and see if that fails. But the failure method seems to be software related because its so random, but BIOS 2.0 doesn't have any power options for the USB. If it were the keyboard and mouse, why would the brand new wireless ones not work either?

I am more lost than I ever have been.
