CD-ROM Drive won't recognize Windows 7 install disc
Post Body

So for school, I need to work with an old computer that's currently still running windows XP. A dell optiplex gx60 with a Hitachi/LG GCR-8481B 48x CD-ROM IDE Drive.

I've tried to install Windows 7 on it, but for some reason my CD-ROM drive doesn't recognize the installation disc.

I've tried to change the boot sequence in the BIOS and tried to manually boot it through the boot menu, all to no success.

When I tried to boot it through the boot menu it told me to insert a disc.

A friend of mine who used the exact same disc was able to install windows 7 on his computer.

I hope someone can help me out with this problem.
