Using a Windows Gaming Mouse on Mac- Assigning DPI/Macros, etc.
Post Body

Posting this on relevant subreddits in hopes of a taker:

So I'm planning on getting a new gaming mouse, and I'm heavily skewed towards this crowdfunded mouse.. But it only has customizing software for Windows XP or higher. Since the Mouse allows you to control DPI, Lighting, and up to 7-8 Macros on extra buttons, I'd love to be able to buy the mouse and use it on a Mac. I've already researched this, and found free software that allows for customizing button, mouse accel, etc. but there are frequent reports that it doesn't work with X or Y mouse. My questions are then if I can customize the mouse on my Windows Bootcamp side, and if those macros will remain on my Mac side? Is it okay to assume every mouse has onboard memory? Moreover, the mouse has DPI buttons to quickly switch DPI on the fly, will this still work on my Mac just as well as on Windows, or will that be a problem if it's not necessarily built to support the Mac OS? Finally, if I do end up having to edit everything on my Windows side, is there any way to use the Command Key in Windows? or do I just have to create obscure Mac keyboard shortcuts without the CMD button? The mouse in question is the James Donkey 007 If you look, there are DPI and mode indicators, and I have no idea if they will still function on Mac, as its purely a windows mouse.
