Desktop giving me a black screen

So my desktop monitor is giving me a black screen. I've tried searching things but I'm only finding issues where the monitor won't turn on. My monitor is turning on it's just a black screen. Hit CTRL ALT DEL and I can access Task Manager and the options for rebooting/powering off (which I've tried already) but it's just black rather than showing the desktop.
It was working fine today I've just never ran into this before and am stumped.
