Post Body

So I just took in my Macbook Pro (2011) to the Apple store for repairs and as I suspected I had a failing hard drive. They replaced it for me and i picked it up not too long ago. Well im booting up my Mac now and out of 4GB of RAM I only have about 1GB free...I dont think this is normal. According to the Activity Monitor I have 1.04GB App Memory, 1.31GB to File Cache, and 671.9MB for Wired Memory. What can I do to reduce these numbers? Are my only options to upgrade or replace my RAM? Im not even on the internet right now and have nothing saved to the HD at this point so I cant think of what would be taking up this much space on my Mac.

Edit: update to include that I just ran sudo purge and now File Cache is at 178.8MB (so much yes). Any tips or tricks for App Memory?
