I just came back from work to my 12 year old brother being upset. He told me he accidentally spilled some pop on his motherboard(his computer was laying on it's side under his desk with the cover off, due to having a risen graphics card since his computer is too small of the graphics card I bought him for Christmas. Yes, I should have looked it back. I assumed).
When it happened he said his computer was still running normally but he got scared and called our mother. She told him to turn it off and unplug it(so no electricity is going through it while it is wet) and leave it until I get home.
It did not short or have any immediate issues, so I guess my questions are
What is the best and safest way to clean it? Damp paper towel, clean it, leave it to air dry for a few hours and then turn it on?
Is there anything I should look for?
If I was to get it wet with a wet paper tower and clean it like that, is there anything specific I should avoid getting wet?
Sorry if this does not fit a normal submission, I just wanted to double check that my plan was safe and good before I go to work on it(he's pestering me to get a second opinion basically)
Thank you.
