Greetings!

I have a new build i've put together, and have been having some issues now that it is all assembled.

The parts are: i5-2500k Asrock h77m-itx board 4gb g-skill ram 500w corsair power supply, and other unrelated things

When putting together the bare system for this, the machine gets power, the cpu fan spins up for about 5-10 seconds, and then the machine powers down. After a few seconds it starts up again and repeats until I pull the plug.

The memory and power supply are working fine, as they work with no issues in another test bench machine. I tested with another cpu fan to make sure it was not a fan error causing the issue.

I have a feeling it is either the board or cpu. Both are new, though the board has sat in the box for a month or two after purchasing, since I got it on sale but did not have a processor for it yet.

I did notice something odd about the socket on the board, and i'm guessing that this may be the issue: http://imgur.com/sCfY3Zr

It looks to my eyes like there might be a bent pin or two in the socket itself. Granted, i've never taken a very close look at a socket before, since normally I just take the cover off and get the processor right in, but I cannot think of anything else that might be causing the issue.

Any insight would be appreciated greatly.

Cheers!
