Hi guys, I'm in desperate need of some help.
I just got back from a trip, 5 days, to a computer that will not start. It was working absolutely fine before hand. I can tell the PSU is supplying power to the motherboard, as a couple of things on the motherboard are lit up. However, whenever I press the power button, theres just a quick burst of activity, like it is trying to turn on, then everything just stops. Let me be clear, it is the merest fraction of activity. Any other lights quickly blink, and the fans do maybe one rotation. Then nothing. It doesn't really start at all. Its basically just the power being supplied while my finger is pressing the button.
I have never come across this issue before. I'm going to try swapping the power supply in the morning. The only other thing I can think is an overheating CPU maybe? I really don't know. Certainly not what I wanted to come home to after a nice trip! Thanks for any and all help you guys can provide.
