Would disabling display adapter help?
Post Body

I've been having a problem with my Nvidia Geforce GTX550Ti video card on my new Windows 8 computer, where when it is put into the PCIex16 slot the monitor will just display a black screen.

It was working before a WLAN card driver caused some problems (I think.) I took out the video card and removed the drivers that were causing those and other problems, and put working ones on the computer. The video shows up when the monitor is connected to the integrated graphics VGA port.

When putting the video card back in the computer however, I still get a black screen as output. I was wondering if the computer may be trying to still use the integrated card when the Nvidia one is plugged and causing the black screen. I was thinking of disabling the integrated graphics card in device manager, but I'm afraid that if that is not the problem and the Nvidia card still doesn't work right, I will be left with no video output at all.

Would disabling the integrated graphics card help, and if that was the only working graphics card, would I be able to reverse disabling it?
