My HD has been failing for awhile, and I have some questions about keeping it alive for as long as possible.
Post Body

I know I have a problem, but I just have zero dollars to fix it.

I finally had to restore from the CDs that came with the laptop, and that helped for a couple days. I still need to restore frequently, but at least I have a good restore point, and it goes quickly. 20 minutes as opposed to 4 hours.

My question is, is there any way to make my laptop boot up from D: instead of C:? I have plenty of space. C seems to be where the hard drive fails (?) and back ups on d are fine, but is there any way to point to D always?

I don't really understand how this works. I am hoping the difference between c & d is physical and not virtual, but maybe that is not correct.

My laptop is a Samsung R610, and I am running Vista.

Thank you for any help at all.
