T7 Samsung ssd took on fire

Post Body

Hi everyone!

I’m in a bit of a pickle here. My 500g t7 ssd, that I’ve had for almost a year, and worked fine up until today, suddenly started to smoke and burn when I plugged it into my pc.

It’s the same usb port I usually use, on the same computer, I’ve tested it, it works perfectly fine with other usb devices.

So my guess is a short circuit inside the ssd, possibly coming from the usb-c port (the smoke came from here).

Does anyone know of a similar case? Or have any idea how I could try to recover the data ?

Thanks!
