I think I'm going mad with this issue
For the past few weeks, I lost access to my local devices on Windows 11, for some reason I have access to the internet, but when I try to find my printer, or login to my router on 192.168.1.1 or any address on the local network I get this similar error on every single browser I use:
Your Internet access is blocked
Firewall or antivirus software may have blocked the connection.
Try:
- Checking the connection
- [Checking firewall and antivirus configurations](chrome-error://chromewebdata/#buttons)
ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED
In the beginning I thought oh it must be my antivirus (Kaspersky) so I disabled it and nothing, then I removed it and disabled windows defender and firewall, and nothing.
Maybe it's the VPN (have Windscribe and NordVPN), so I disabled it and uninstalled it, flushed DNS and reset the network and everything you can think under the sun and still nothing.
My internet access works fine, but I can't find a printer or add one, and I can't even log in to my router.
I tried creating a new user thinking maybe it's some program, still nothing.
Out of pure desperation, I went back to my Linux fedora dualboot and low and behold it just works, 192.168.1.1 was working like nothing was blocking it, tried it with Windscribe on there, and it was working, that honestly shook me.
Now I got no clue what might be blocking this connection, what is windows doing that Linux isn't, why can't I access my local devices anymore (I used to, something must have changed)
Any suggestions are welcome.
Edit: Thanks for the help whoever provided it, it's always the VPN when it comes to network issues, even if you remove it fully, an auto updater can do just as much damage.
Nord updater was the culprit for me
If ur reading this and getting the same issue, remove all remnants of your vpn, and I mean everything.
