TCL black screen issue

my tv was working perfectly now its giving me problems. when i turn the power on it see the homepage of the smart tv for 0.5 seconds then it just goes black. i can still hear the menu option sounds so its still working but nomatter what i do it stays black besides that half second when it starts up. I'm not handy so going into the guts of the tv isn't really an option for me and i do not have the money quite yet to get it professionally looked at. if someone can help me fix this it would be vastly appreciated. please let me know if you need additional information and i will provide it.
