So, as the title states, I left my computer idle for about 5-7 hours, something I normally do with no issues. When I came home and launched into a game (Fortnite), I realized I was having massive FPS drops. My monitor is 1440P 240Hz. I would be having 240 FPS, but as soon as I made a quick movement, it would drop all the way down to 20, experiencing massive drops. I tried it on other games, and the same thing occurred. So, I decided to try overclocking my GPU and CPU with recommended settings (but nothing worked). After wasting my time on that, I decided maybe it was good to check my temps (all fine). Okay, so no issues there either. Then, I went ahead and took apart my computer and tested my PSU, which is 1000 watts, and all readings were good on my PSU tester. So, it's not my PSU. Then I thought, well, maybe I have to reinstall Windows and clear my drives, but that didn't work either. So now, I'm thinking maybe it's time to purchase a new motherboard. My thought was that maybe the motherboard was having issues using the dedicated settings it had on it and wasn't pulling enough from the PSU. So, I reinstalled all my parts with the new motherboard, and the problem is still here. I've tried so much I can think of. I am currently running Windows Memory Diagnostics to see if my RAM is the problem; currently, nothing is wrong with it, it states. My CPU is the Ryzen 7900X3D, and my GPU is a 4070 Ti Gigabyte. RAM is 2x32 Corsair Vengeance 6400MHz. My next step after this is to run a different GPU and see if that works. If anyone has any other ideas, that would be amazing. Thanks.
