Messages not loading properly.

I’m using Reddit on my phone. It says I have a message but when I go to my messages, they don’t load or they take a minutes or two. If/when they do load, the message I received is the message I sent, if that makes sense. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the so twice, that helps one time. Is there a way to fix this?
