USB CD reader not showing up on Windows 10 (newest update)

When plugging it in I don't get a USB connect sound, doesn't show up in device manager (including in hidden devices) and I've tried MANY solutions, even reinstalling windows. It used to work a month or two ago, recently tried plugging it in with no luck. I also don't have a DVD/CD-Rom section in my device manager. The drive definitely works though, like the light turns on and you can hear the disk spinning inside. I'm totally lost, and tried it on a Windows 11 PC, and it also didn't work on it and that PC had the same issue as mine, with trying the sam solutions to no avail.
