Will reinstalling or upgrading windows OS fix my software issue?

After changing RAM due to BSOD issues, my PC suddenly has no audio. I've tried several steps:
Reinstalling drivers Enabling Windows Audio service Trying file fixers
Nothing has yet worked. I have no audio, and no Audio Input or Output in my Device Manager anymore.
I'd prefer to not spend several hundred dollars getting this fixed, or thousands getting a new computer, if it's a simple fix.
