My Samsung Z Fold 3 speakers suddenly stopped working

A couple of days ago the sound on my phone went out, and would work only when I opened my phone. Now it doesn't work at all. I'm guessing it's a hardware issue but I'm quite stumped by what caused it. There were no prior warning signs, my speakers worked fine one moment and just didn't the next.
Does anyone have any ideas and possibly any fixes?
I've tried all the usual troubleshooting except for a factory reset.
