Whilst cleaning my 20 year old phat Ps2 that has never been open, I removed the part containing both mem card and controller ports. I thought nothing of it until I reconnected the ps2 and discovered the first controller and mem card holder wouldn't work. Upon further investigation I realized that the second mem card and controller port work just fine without issue. I also noticed that when attempting to plug a controller into the 1st controller port that doesn't work, the screen briefly goes black for a couple seconds. Also, some games aren't loading altogether. Idk if anyone has ever countered or can identify the issue and recommend what I do next but any sort of help would be appreciated, thanks!
