Okay, this is a super weird one, so bear with me.
Windows 10. Lenovo 82BJ laptop
About two weeks ago, I found out that I couldn't drag and drop stuff. After a bit of a panic and some confusion as to where the problem lied, I restarted my computer and that fixed it. Temporarily.
I started experimenting and found out that it wasn't a problem in a specific application, but on my computer. It's very weird (but consistent) about what I can drag-and-drop.
For example, I CAN drag-and-drop stuff like Chrome tabs, items in the taskbar, open windows, and so on. I CAN also do stuff like highlight text and group-select stuff on my desktop.
What I CAN'T do is, say, move a file in the File Explorer, or move an icon on my desktop, or move highlighted text in a Word document (so I've had to get creative with copy/paste to offset that). It also extends this problem to some random applications, but the general problem is that I generally can't drag and drop SOME stuff.
I've looked around on google, and all of the stuff I found didn't work. Left-click esc? Didn't work. Windows updates? Didn't change anything. Fiddle around with mouse driver? Nope. SFC and DISM scans? Nothing. Hardware/Device Troubleshooter? Says everything's completely fine. Edit the Windows registry? Doesn't do anything.
Literally THE ONLY THING that fixes it is completely restarting my computer, but that only fixes it temporarily. After a couple hours, the problem's returned. And preferably, I'd like to not have to restart my computer every time I want to drag-and-drop something.
