So 2 machines both running windows 11 pro, both connected to same router via gigabit ethernet, both can browse the web and access network printer without issue. I can access my wife's machine and see my own shares, however she cannot access any shares on my machine as even though she has an account on my computer, password protected sharing is disabled (yet it prompts for a username and password) and her account has full control of the folder, it still denies her access saying she doesn't have permissions. I've went through and double checked the effective permissions and she has access. Troubleshooter can't find the issue. Both machines have file and printer sharing enabled, both are set to have a private network connection, I cannot get my head around why my computer isn't giving my wife access.
I'm about ready to lose my cool with windows 11, its continuing the trend of oddball issues that windows 10 initiated (i.e. start menu not working for whatever reason, mail refusing to open despite being a fresh install and still not working after another reinstall, in the end I had resort to a pile of DISM commands to get it to work)
Like this doesn't make any sense at all......
