My windows 10 computer makes a disconnect and then reconnect sound repeatedly when my tv connected with HDMI as 2nd monitor is on standby

Post Body

I have a desktop computer with a 1440p primary monitor, and next to it is my tv which is then connected to my pc with HDMI, so it can act as a 2nd monitor when i'm not watching tv.

I just got a new Sony X72K 43" 4K tv set up, to replace my old Sony 40" 1080p tv. The problem i'm having is that when i turn off the tv with it still connected to the computer and wait about 10 seconds, it will disconnect and quickly reconnect to my pc, acting exactly as if i were to pull out the HDMI and plug it back in. This happens repeatedly with about 10 second intervals, and it was never an issue on my previous tv. I should mention everything works as it should when the tv is on, and problems only arise when the tv is switched to standby from the remote.
I tried switching HDMI ports on both the tv and my computer and updating my graphics driver (RTX 3070, fairly new card with little wear) with no change in behaviour, but when i tried plugging the tv into a laptop to try to recreate the problem, it just worked flawlessly. This leads me to a dead end where i'm no longer sure what to try.

Just to recap, here are things i've tried:
Different HDMI ports in both ends
Updated graphics drivers
Lowering the screen resolution on the tv

This could be the incorrect flair, but at this point i'm still not entirely sure where the problem sits.
