Hmm, the records thingy got to be reform too! That had to rhyme with the changing times!!!

When folks went to jail & released due to good behaviours or by merits and if he got back to free society and did self-rehabs or finished a degree studiously... Society had to give him some sort of encouragement or achievement recognitions! Prison records can be in parity with post-jail achievements.. simply EXPUNGE the convicts' records via ladderized crediting system ~ the likes of how some country gave graded credits for immigrants who wish to enter its country & trying to apply for citizenships!!

That guy with just a 5-yrs prison term might be a lazy-bone or a dimwitted one. But at least the authorities should give options for them to have a fighting chances once they step out of their cells! A chance on rehabs, a chance for a new quality of life!

As for the hurdles in designing such programs (or instructional booklets; schema).. just make it K.I.S.S! Just instruct the *Most BASIC" in order for inmates to know the operational HowTo of cell phones, what to LookFor/Expect when signals are down to 1bar; how does sms work; attachment HowTo - if applicable, etc.. etc.

I used to edit/revise operating manuals on full-pledged branch's IT Room operations of a major int'l bank w/c are done originally in English but had to be revised for adaptation to local operating environments which is Chinese in nature. I remember revising some specifics ala-Infograph (drawings graphs piecharts flowcharts or pasted Polaroid shots, etc).. w/c is easier for local staffs to comprehend! That was almost 20yrs ago, when infograph doesn't exist in dictionary yet! 😄 Lolz!

Whatever are in existence, it has to be reviewed & reformed for it to comply with changing societal environments! Jail Management can not just go on implementing mini-courses without phasing with society's ever changing trends huh.

Well, when one's out of contact w/ the outside world for even only 365days & all of the sudden.. you're back in the same place but in a different time span.. you just goes blank for at least sometime. It's very different when one goes normal thru the decade & found things to be different.. he can catch up with what's missing!

I would rather gave this former convict.. the benefit of a doubt. Rather than dismissing him outright.
