Did our first multi-state mountain-pass road trip in a Tesla in 2014.
You get in your Tesla - you start driving, the range is accurate.
It is cold so you turn the heater on.
You set your path to go over some mountains. Tesla range calculations are smart enough to see the elevation of your planned trip and your heater usage. THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO GET STRANDED so your remaining range shown starts dropping faster than you expect. FRAUD!!! lol The car starts giving you options of different Super Chargers you can visit to recharge. You ignore it and drive it to 0 miles remaining and surprise! You have another 30 miles they didn't tell you about because they didn't want you to get stranded.
Later you call service because you want them to check your battery. They can do that remotely, there's no need to drive into a service center to do it.
It's a big nothing burger.
