Has anybody here been both a BA and a TW? Which did you prefer?
Post Body

I'm currently a business analyst (BA) with a technical background although my job has morphed into more of a tech writer job. I like the work although I don't like the environment, so I'm looking around, and applying to both BA and TW positions. I'm curious, if anybody else has also done both jobs, which did you prefer?

I think I'm a bit tired of BA work, but that might be because I keep getting thrown into the deep end of the tech pool with no training and expected to be an SME the next day. It's a TON of pressure even though I manage to do okay. I'm not saying tech writer is easier, but I think it might be nice to not be expected to develop new technical solutions from ground zero, document them, write requirements, AND do customer support for them. I want one job so that I can do it really, really well. But that's me. Anybody else with a different experience?
