5 years ago today, the owner of TL, Liquid112, was asked "Where do you see your org in 5 years?"
Post Body

On September 2 2014 Steve(Liquid112) did an AMA on /r/leagueoflegends where he was asked "Where do you think Curse Esports will be in 5 years?" and I found his answer very interesting and I hope he's proud to have been able to accomplish everything he wanted.

In 5 years, I hope to have some of the best teams in the most popular eSports titles. I hope that more non-endemic brands get involved, I hope the value of our digital marketing engagement and awareness for products and services becomes recognized by the general advertising community and revenue increases across the board for players, staff to support the players and all the content and branding jobs that would result from it.

I wanted to briefly go over each of his points just in case some of our fans are unaware of certain aspects of the teams.

In 5 years, I hope to have some of the best teams in the most popular eSports titles.

Team Liquid has the consensus World #1 Team in CS:GO who are hopefully about to win a Major, they just finished 2nd place in Dota TI9 after previously winning TI7, the LoL team just became the first team in LCS history to win 4 splits in a row and are North Americas first seed to represent them at the upcoming Worlds tournament, the Rainbow 6 squad just won their Major back in July, The Clash Royale team also won the CRL West in July, Riversan just came 9th in the Fortnite World Cup Solo Finals earning himself $300,000, Hbox won the Smash Summit in November of 2018 and has won 5 of the 9 tournaments he's participated in this year, and finally the PubG team won the PEL Kick off cup and came in 4th place in the GLL grand slam. This is an incredible achievement and I feel lucky as a fan that no matter which eSport I turn on Team Liquid is near the cream of the crop for competition.

I hope that more non-endemic brands get involved

Team Liquid is currently partnered with Marvel and sponsored by Honda, and Jersey Mikes.

I hope the value of our digital marketing engagement and awareness for products and services becomes recognized by the general advertising community

this one is harder to pinpoint specifics but Honda just released several TL related commercials and Doublelift was the focus of a Netflix produced documentary "7 Days Out". I'm sure there are other examples that I'm forgetting right now.

revenue increases across the board for players, staff to support the players and all the content and branding jobs that would result from it.

With the franchising of the NA LCS, Teams have become more stable and if half of what we hear in salary rumors is correct players are making significantly more now than 5 years ago. Additionally, Team Liquid has an entire staff working out of AWTF for content production, partnership management, player management, and merchandise sales.

I hope you guys enjoyed reading through this and I hope your just as excited as I am to see where the team goes in the next 5 years!
