So my kettle had the hinge come off that keeps the flap on and well now it no longer whistles. Going on google to looks for a kettle well isn't a little more complicated then back in the day.
So I wanted to see what the experts use for boiling their water. While a whistle isn't required I'm often in another room so I need something decently loud as an auditory clue when the water is ready.
If it matters my main use is with twinings bagged tea often black.
However I also use my kettle to do coffee in a french press which holds about three mugs of coffee so I want to be able to boil at least that much water in one shot. Also I'm disabled and live with another disabled person so keeping the weight of the kettle is a minor concern, but I'm probably not going to want something giant and cast iron.
So if anyone has any thoughts or where they like to get their tea kettles I could use the info. The question whether to go electric is also something I haven't figured out yet.
Thanks in advance.
