How necessary is a teapot?
Post Body
I've just recently started drinking tea, but I don't have a teapot. I usually boil water in a metal pot, pour it into a mug and let a bag of tea sit for a few minutes. Can I attempt loose leaf tea if I use a metal pot instead of a teapot, or would that alter the taste of the tea? I fortunately have a strainer. Also, what's the ratio between water and tea I should use?
Thanks in advance!
Edit: Thanks for the suggestions! I'm pleased at how affordable a lot of alternatives to teapots are. The IngenuiTEA looks really neat (despite it's groan-worthy name), something I might get to start off with.
