Possibly losing power again
Post Body

Hi guys I posed a question a few months back, and then after the repairs were made put up a follow-up post.

So for a little over a month now everything relating to those two problems (little to no turbo vacuum and a coolant leak) have been fine.

However, today on my way to work the car seemed to lose power again. It was not right away, only the last few minutes of my 20 minute commute. It was definitely not as bad as before as the original VNT actuator was completely shot.

While the mechanic and I were under the hood doing the repairs, we noticed the vacuum hoses seemed to be a bit spongy or gummy. Since the system held the proper level of vacuum with no issue, we did not replace the hoses.

I am going to see if I can get my friend's OBD2 scanner later today and see if any fault codes are being thrown; the check engine light is not on at this time.

In the mean time, are there some other possible issues that could cause this to happen again? Is my turbo itself on its way out? Could the vanes inside the turbo housing controlled by the VNT actuator be stuck open or closed?

Thanks for any tips/suggestions!
