Just wanted to come here and say how much I appreciate TDA providing a well written OAUTH2 based API. I have accounts at pretty much all the mainstream brokers but none provide what I consider such a basic feature. IBKR does provide an API but it is from another age and time.
I am not an active trader by any means. I don't even log into my accounts for months at a time. So I wanted a tool that allows me to monitor my account. Quicken provided this feature for a fee but that's a different story.
So I wrote py scripts to download transcations. I run it on a schedule, and while it is not as polished, it serves my purpose without having to manually login to TDA webpage.
Then, a few days ago I got another idea. With the market being quite a way off its top, I wanted to find out which stocks are more off their tops - i.e. which of them might be more of a bargain.
So I wrote another script and I got that data too - a total of about 30 lines of code maybe.
Amazing API from TDA and a shoutout to Alex for creating https://github.com/alexgolec/tda-api that made my life easier (I am not in any way affiliated with his product).
