So I messed up pretty good, I severely underestimated my income from last year (good paying job and unemployment from out of state, then a lower paying job in state) and figured my federal return would cover my state taxes and it doesn’t. I have basically zero cash right now, though I start a better paying job this week. If I file I do not have the money to pay anything right now. I can’t file an extension without making a payment. Should I wait until I can make payments to file and accept the fee, or am I better off filing today?
