Clarification about tax home and travel deductions
Post Body

Hello!

Just looking for some advice. I’ve read some articles on google but just want more clarification.

Last year I relocated to KY from MI, largely due to to covid. I am a freelance videographer and do a lot of weddings.

I have started my own LLC in KY and have booked some work down here, but I just got offered a lot of weddings in MI with a company I worked for up there. Basically I’m going to go to MI every other weekend for four months and film 2-3 weddings each trip.

I’m just wondering what I need to consider for these trips to be tax deductible. I have a KY drivers license, car registration, and address, but it looks like probably half my income this year will be from MI.

Thanks for any advice!
