Is it legal or advantageous to trade labor hours, vs billing everything back and forth?
Post Body

I started an llc last year, my romantic partner recently started her own llc as well.

We're trying to figure out the best method for billing each other moving forward. The main questions being: do we bill/pay each other as the independent contractors we are? OR do we basically swap hours back and forth and only bill/pay the difference?

I don't know if the later is legal, or advantageous.

My assumption is: straight billing and paying eachother, while more complicated, would provide the biggest advantages with write-offs and removing any questions when it comes to 'above-board' record keeping.

Any guidance is appreciated. Many thanks and have a great day!
