Hi all, I won a poker tournament in California.(say 10k for simplicity). Canada has a tax treaty thing with USA so we don’t pay any taxes.

However, I received form 592-B “Resident and non Resident Withholding Tax Statement” and it says there’s approximately $700 in the field titled “total tax withheld”.

Am I somehow also entitled to this $700 chunk of change? What is this?

I also received form 1042-S where it has $700 on the field “state income tax withheld”.

I appreciate any advice from you experts thank you.
