I have just been fired by my employer, and need to file for my unemployment insurance. UI is asking for my employer’s FEIN, but I had started work there just this year, and so have not received a W2 from this employer yet. This employer does not place their FEIN on their pay stubs. I have asked the HR department for the FEIN, and they have refused to give it to me. This is making it impossible to file for my UI.
What can I do at this point? Is there some way of finding out what an employer’s FEIN is if they are refusing to cooperate?
