Got my first tattoo today and love it. I admit I wasn't really paying attention during the aftercare part when we finished because I was excited and...ya. I remember him saying "take the wrap off tomorrow, wash with dial/dove unscented soap, thin layer of aquaphor for 2 days, then keep using dial/dove for a couple weeks and follow with lotion and continue with daily lotion after. What I don't remember is if I'm supposed to wrap it after using the aquaphor. I've seen lots of people in the traditional tattoo sub say let tattoos breathe during healing, so...?

Also, a friend who has much more experience says to use water-based lotion instead of oil-based because oil-based might cause breakouts. Thoughts?
