2 year old tattoo has become *incredibly* itchy

Post Body

I have a tattoo on my left calf which is about 2-ish years old, done in a Sailor Jerry style. Over the past 24 hours it has become incredibly itchy. Almost like mosquito bite itchy, but it only seems to be itchy on the ink work, and not on the bare skin within the design. And oddly, the black ink work is raised; you can feel all the lines. But not on the colour parts.

Could heat be the cause of this? Has anyone experienced anything similar?

I’ve spent the last few weeks travelling in temperatures ranging between 70 and 110 Fahrenheit. Back home, 60 would be a glorious day.

I have two other tattoos, one of quite significant size, and neither of them are displaying the same unbearable itchiness.

Baffled! I might have to pop to a CVS or something and pick up some tattoo moisturiser?…Never used it in the past though.
