Looking for information regarding a well known con man.

Doxing is against Reddit’s policy, but I’m hoping someone might be able to help me out here.
My family was conned a few years ago by someone who was directing a small wildlife tour company. I have since learned that we were not the only victims and I’m wondering if anyone here knows who I’m talking about.
His name rhymes with Boney.
