Different pulls, Different messages

So yesterday I did my own spread and it's getting rarer now for me but I had a hard time relating the cards to my question at all.
So I did another spread and then came back to it and pulled again. This time I got an amazingly positive, easy to interpret set of cards. But while I was happy I started to self doubt a bit. How do you handle situations like this? Do you go with what you can read? Or is there possibly more layers I'm not getting through to?
