Do the cards not like it when you ask the same question multiple times?

Post Body

Hello,

Context: I have just taken my exam a week ago. Before I took it I asked a friend if she could read if I would pass and she pulled a ā€œyesā€ card. Yesterday, I grabbed my tarot deck to ask if I had passed it. The first card that fell out was the 10 of cups. I took it as a yes and looked online to confirm that it was a yes card. I decided I wanted confirmation that it truly was a yes, so I decided to the 10 of cups back and pull another card. The second card was a no then I pulled again and that card was a yes. I was at this for like 10 mins before I finally freaked out because I was getting yes, no, and maybe cards.

My sister who has been doing tarot longer than me told that the cards donā€™t like being asked the same question over and over again. She also suggested that my anxious energy about getting no and maybes was playing into it as well. She said as long as I had a clear head and I pulled the ten of cups I should have left it at thatā€¦

Is that true the cards donā€™t like being asked the same question over and over again?

I will say that I did try again today after meditating and lighting sage so I could have a clear mind. I tried to only repeat the question a few times and got the empress card first. Then decided to get another yes card for confirmation (because Iā€™m an idiot who repeated herself). The second card was a maybe then another maybe and again a maybeā€¦ after that I just stopped.

Iā€™m really nervous and want to pass this test but have to wait a month for ananswer if I passed or not. I thought that pulling a card would make my nerves better but I think it made it worse.

Should I pull again in a week and truly only take the first card and leave it alone?

(Update): Thank you to everyone who extended grace in their response to my question. I read the post again and I could see the anxiety popping off the page. I did put the cards down and Iā€™ll let what will be be. I do think this has made me reevaluate what do I really what my purpose to be with tarot. Like why am I truly learning it?

I will say that I am fairly new to tarot, so for the people who seemed a bit criticalā€¦ we all start somewhere. Not everything is obvious to me and Iā€™m trying to get better at it.

For all the people who asked how would I feel if someone asked the same question over and over again. Iā€™m a teacher lol so this happens on the daily and youā€™re right I do get frustrated sometimes. I also understand stand theyā€™re are kids so I try to be patient. With that being said I am human too so I can only hope the universe is patient with me too lol.

Again thank you!
