Researching for a new species of pet

Post Body

So I've been doing some research into tarantulas to have as a pet. Specifically as a school pet. I'm a custodian at an elementary school and I'm known for saving everything in classrooms from being killed by teachers and showing students what has been found in and around the school. I've saved countless brown recluse, wolf spiders and many other species. Including taking care of a very beautiful orb weaver the students names Charlotte as the school was reading Charlotte's web all together.

I'm looking for a larger species that doesn't have as potent venom as it will be in a school. Preferably a species that is very colorful. I'm not very knowledgeable about spiders as a whole. But it would be a pet that would be moved from room to room if it's viable to do so. I know lizards aren't very good with being moved from room to room but are tarantulas?

Obviously it would be more of a "decoration" for the school but it would most definitely be my pet in the long run if keeping it at the school doesn't work out. I have already talked to our principal about it and he's all for it. There's people he needs to talk to about safety with venomous species.
