Is there no story line to this event?

It seems like there isn't actually any story line this time. We were told there's a pagan festival and then we just have to grind. If there's fun dialogue I can bear the daily grind, but there doesn't seem to be much reason for it here. I'm kind of feeling like EA didn't put much effort into this one.
