This post has been de-listed
It is no longer included in search results and normal feeds (front page, hot posts, subreddit posts, etc). It remains visible only via the author's post history.
What does this mean?
This means users will not be able to access the subreddit. Our verified/approved users will still be able to access it and even submit stuff, however nobody else will be able to see, comment or vote on your posts, making it pointless to submit anything.
Why are you doing this?
Reddit recently came out with proposed changes to their API as explained in this article. This means third-party mobile apps as well as bots that help with moderating will not be able to cover the exorbitant costs for using their API and will most likely have to shut down.
How long will this go for?
The plan is to shut down the sub for 48 hours. However, r/tanlines will stay down indefinitely until reddit comes up with acceptable terms.
How does this affect us?
According to our subreddit stats, the vast majority of our users browse this sub in their mobile phones. Not only does this directly affects users, their plan is to also heavily restrict their API access to adult subs (such as this one).
What even is an API?
According to wikipedia: "An application programming interface (API) is a way for two or more computer programs to communicate with each other. It is a type of software interface, offering a service to other pieces of software." Please refer to the links below for more information on how this relates to reddit.
